The Group heard the reports of efficiency audit on protection from the domestic violence and prevention mechanisms.
The rapporteur, Head of SAS Efficiency Audit Department, Giorgi Kapanadze spoke about the outcomes of the audit within 2015-2018 third quarter and the issued recommendations.
The objects of the audit were: MIA, LEPL Social Service Agency and Inter-Agency Commission on Gender Equality, Violation against Women and Domestic Violence. The audit covered the cases of violence and the response thereto by the police and social workers, as well as accessibility to means of protection of the victims of the violence and public awareness.
The sitting was attended by the respective officials of the audit objects who introduced the information about responses to the domestic violence, as well as productivity of domestic violence preventive mechanisms and the gaps and impediments; they discussed elimination of the problems, including absence of the 24-hour response mechanism of social workers.
The Head of the SAS Report Consideration Audit Group, Paata Kvizhinadze offered to the state agencies to hold the additional meeting to define needs and capacities.
The attendees answered the questions of MPs.
