Special attention was paid to the agenda of the Parliament of Georgia and its special role in the democratic development of the country.
Claude Kern and Titus Corlățean hailed the reform of enhancing the institutional capacity of the country's highest representative body and emphasized that the mechanisms provided by the renewed Rules of Procedure would significantly improve both the legislative and oversight functions of the Parliament.
Pursuant to the guests, in line with the tremendous increase of the accountability of the Government, the role of the parliamentary opposition has been strengthened, too.
The importance of close cooperation between the Parliament of Georgia and the PACE was also highlighted.
In addition, the talks stressed on the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia.
