“Georgia enhances its democracy, institutions and the electoral system – we are grateful to the American people and American Government for years of support, which was important in the Constitutional reform, in development of the 4th wave of the judicial reform and in development of the law on selection of the Judges; today, we all – the Government, political parties, society and the partners – cooperate on electoral issues”.
According to the Speaker, the USA may share the vast experience of the electoral democracy and that “engagement of the young political class in the politics makes us optimistic. We shall stronger facilitate to participation of the youth”.
Archil Talakvadze, on behalf of the Parliament, thanked the strategic partner and friend country – the USA, the US Embassy and the American people for 25 years of support and cooperation and hoped the new program will facilitate to improvement of the electoral system. USAID, introducing the program “Supporting Electoral and Political Processes in Georgia” has officially declared the new, 4-year initiative to support the electoral and political processes.
The opening ceremony was attended by all partner organizations engaged.
