“In the next week, we will initiate the Bill on behalf of Majority to envisage the gender quotation”, - the Speaker stated after adoption of the changes to the Election Code were not adopted with the I reading.
He noted that the Majority considers some gender quotation issues and after reconciliation of the positions, the Majority will support the Bill.
“We discussed some issues. Quotation is the general principle, though we discussed the quota distribution between the proportional list and majoritarian elections. We also discussed limitation of the quotas with some term. These issues are under consideration. The Majority will reconcile the positions and will initiate the Bill, which I am sure will be supported by the Majority. Common aspiration is to increase women representation with at least 25% on the basis of the upcoming elections and with 33% for 2024 elections. It is the starting point of the Bill and our initiative will be based on this aspiration”.
