The Speaker and MPs met the participants of the Christmas Carol March in front of the Parliament

The Speaker, Irakli Kobakhidze and MPs traditionally met the participants of the Christmas Carol March in front of the Parliament. They delivered the baskets full of sweets to the carol singers.

The Speaker expressed his season greetings to the population.

“Let me with you merry Christmas. I especially want to congratulate the children and wish you all the new year full of joy and happiness”.

The March started from the First Republic Square to lead to the Holy Trinity Cathedral.

The donations will be distributed to the gutter houses and penitential departments.

The carol singing tradition started in the V-VI century in Georgia and was revived in 2001 with blessings of the Catholic-Patriarch, Ilia II.
