The parties discussed Georgia-OSCE cooperation, as well as OSCE priorities during presidency of Slovakia.
The parties emphasized occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region by Russia and the current situation on the occupied territories, underlining OSCE role in conflict resolution.
According to the Speaker, Georgia is committed for maximization of cooperation with OSCE: “At the meeting we discussed bilateral cooperation and future relations. Naturally, we emphasized the conflicts and the current situation on the occupied territories, especially the gross human rights violations. We highly value the OSCE role in conflict resolution, including the role of the subject with the status of co-chair of the Geneva Talks and are committed to maximally intensify our cooperation”.
He underlined importance of close cooperation with the international partners: “We aspire to intensify the formats related to the occupied regions, including the Geneva Talks. It is our interest. Naturally, there are impediments artificially created by Russian Federation. So, we need close cooperation with our international partners to achieve the outlined goals”.
The meeting was attended by the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, Sophio Katsarava, OSCEPA President, Gigi Tsereteli and the Chief of the Speaker’s Cabinet, Nikoloz Samkharadze.
