“Establishment of the Polish Institute will further facilitate to enhancement of relations between our people and our countries, especially development of cooperation in education, culture and science spheres”, - the Speaker stated at the opening ceremony of the Polish Institute.
These two countries are linked not only with close political relations but with people-to-people attitude. “I am glad that it is the third event we celebrate today, evidencing the quality of dynamic development of relations between Georgia and Poland. Today, we hail establishment of Polish Institute in Georgia and I would like to congratulate you with this fact. Naturally, establishment of the Polish Institute will further facilitate to enhancement of relations between our people and our countries, especially development of cooperation in education, culture and science spheres. We are linked not only with close political relations but with people-to-people attitude. This special relation and attitude imposes the special responsibility to us to further development and cooperation and friendship between our states and our people”.
According to the Speaker, Poland is the best model for us: “We can highly declare that Poland is the model for us – it is the best example of proper development of the state and development of the values. After addressing the 90s and related complications, Poland today is a democratic state with powerful democratic institutions. Poland is dignified with high welfare level and is EU and NATO member state – all we have outlined as our goal”.
Georgia cherishes a special attitude towards Polish culture: “We value friendship from our Polish partners. We also cherish particular attitude towards Polish culture. Georgia highly values Polish writing, music – they serve as the source of inspiration for many Georgian writers and musicians. We are glad that Polish Institute will serve as the best protector in Georgia for Polish richest cultural heritage”.
Mr. Kobakhidze thanked the Sejm and the Foreign Ministries of Georgia and Poland and wished good luck to the Polish Institute.
The opening ceremony was organized by the Polish Embassy.
