Today, Mr. Kobakhidze met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Burkina Faso, Alassane Bala Sakande; Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, Karu Jayasuriya; Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran, Ali Larijani; Speaker of the National Assembly of Gabon, Faustin Boukoubi; Chairman of the Consultative Assembly of Qatar, Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud; and the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Dominican Republic, Alix Boyd-Knights.
The parties discussed bilateral relations and economic cooperation.
Today, Irakli Kobakhidze and the Speakers of the Parliaments of 80 countries took part in the new high level format of IPU – Dialogue of the Speakers discussing the enhancement of the democratic institutions.
“It was a very interesting and productive day. I met with the Speakers of five Parliaments and discussed bilateral cooperation. I also took part in the discussion attended by the Speakers and discussed democracy development. The meeting was also held with the IPU President to discuss Georgia-IPU cooperation”, - the Speaker stated.
