“Public considerations will further be held in the regions. We will hold the meetings in 10 more regions and municipalities selected according to various criterions. We will also hold 10 meetings in Tbilisi according to the districts”, - the Speaker stated after the enlarged sitting of the Steering Commission on Public Consideration and Promulgation of the Draft Constitutional Law on Constitutional Changes and the Draft Constitutional Law on Autonomous Republic of Adjara.
The meetings will be held with various focal groups during the month. On May 22-23 the meeting will be held with Venice Commission and other international experts, political parties and NGOs in Berlin.
“During the month, we will hold the meetings with various focal groups, as well as in Universities with the academic circles. On May 22-23, we will have the meeting in Berlin with Venice Commission and other international experts, political parties and NGOs. Within public considerations, we will also meet the political parties and after expiration of the 1-month period, we will accomplish considerations and develop the document to be further discussed in the Parliament”.
The next meetings will be held in Zestafoni, Samtredia, Signagi, Khulo, Marneuli, Akhalkalaki, Ozurgeti, Poti, Kazbegi, Mestia and Tbilisi. “We have selected following municipalities: Imereti – Zestafoni and Samtredia; Kakheti – Signagi; Adjara – Khulo; Marneuli and Akhalkalaki to introduce the document to the national minorities; Guria – Ozurgeti, the only regional center where we have not held the meeting; Samegrelo – Poti; Kazbegi and Mestia are highland regions and in the end of the month, we will hold 10 meetings in Tbilisi according to the districts”.
