Kakhaber Kutchava and Irakli Beraia held the meetings with Vice-Chairs of the European Parliament Delegation to the EuroNest PA, Marketa Gregorova and Crisrian Terhes, and Members of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of EP: Andrea Bocskor, Urmas Paet, Petras Austrevicius and Michael Gahler.
The Vice Speaker underlined the results of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration process, ongoing and upheld democratic reforms and domestic political developments in the country. K. Kuchava scrutinized the outcomes of the constitutional, electoral and judicial reforms carried out by the ruling party. He also provided the MEPs with comprehensive information on the issues tabled at the sitting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of EP on January 21.
Irakli Beraia provided the MEPs with detailed information on the grave humanitarian and security situation in the occupied territories of Georgia and noted of the process of illegal borderisation and illicit detention of Georgian citizens. As I. Beraia noted, for the sake of fulfillment of commitments assumed under international law ceasefire agreement, it is important to strengthen the pressure on Russia.
Georgian lawmakers reiterated the significance of European partners' support for Georgia's democratic reforms and thanked their European counterparts for the intact support for our country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
