The Independent MPs Levan Koberidze, Levan Gogichaishvili, Gedevan Popkhadze and Koba Narchemashvili organized the meeting with the founders of TV Company Rustavi2 - David Dvali and Jarji Akimidze to discuss the ownership dispute.
According to L. Koberidze, the meeting was organized to hear the information and the positions about the developments in Rustavi2.
The lawyer Soso Baratashvili assessed the legal aspects of the case and provided the detailed information about the disputes and developments in Rustavi2 since 1994. David Dvali and Jarji Akimidze expressed their positions about modification of the news course in Rustavi2 as the greatest shock for the country.
“It is a critical TV vital at this moment for Georgia. It is important to maintain free word, especially in the form of the powerful organization such is Rustavi 2”, - D. Dvali stated.
Soon, they are to meet Kibar Khalvashi to shed the light on certain aspects. However, there are red lines. According to J. Akimidze, they will apply all legal capacities to gain the company back within the legal frame. “We demand restoration of justice and recognition that in the past, the state has committed the gravest crime against us and we will apply all legal leverages available”.
The founders of Rustavi2 and their lawyer answered the questions of MPs. L. Koberidze, resuming the meeting, stated that the Parliament may set up the Commission: “Deriving from the situation, I envision the real necessity to set up the Fact Finding Commission to ensure rapid and legal processes”.
He noted that in case of the will, they will meet all persons related to ownership to hear their positions.
The meeting was attended by MPs from the Factions “European Georgia” and “National Movement”, NGOs, political organizations, lawyers and other persons concerned.
