The Secretary General of the Parliament, Mr. Givi Mikanadze held the meeting with the Delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone.
The Secretary General provided the members of the delegation with detailed information on public engagement and the Training Center of Parliament, as well as on Parliament's openness, transparency, involvement and accountability.
The meeting focused on the Citizens Engagement Center, which will be launched until the end of the year. The sides dwelt on the reforms and activities implemented in the Training Center and the newly introduced distance learning platform. Reforms implemented for strengthening the Parliament were of high interest as well.
Representatives of the Sierra Leone Parliamentary Delegation inquired about the Parliament's mobile application, which is going to be launched shortly, and received information on important functions that would allow citizens to become more engaged in the activities of the Parliament.
“The guests confirmed their high impressions with the reforms and achievements that they have seen in the Parliament of Georgia and about which they received information. They expressed their desire to carry out such activities in the parliament of their country. Consequently, we were asked to share the experience, for which we expressed our readiness to provide information, share experience and ensure maximum extent of assistance”, - Givi Mikanadze commented after the meeting.
The Sierra Leone Parliamentary Delegation is holding the meetings in the Georgian Parliament within the ambit of the Westminster Foundation project.
