The Memorandum on Cooperation between the Staff of the Parliament of Georgia and the Administration of the Parliament of Fiji envisages cooperation in common interests, joint projects, exchange of experience and internship.

The signatory of the Memorandum from Georgian Parliament is the Secretary General, Givi Mikanadze.

Within the document, Fiji Parliament staff members will pass internship in Georgian Parliament.

The Memorandum is valid through December 31, 2019.

According to Mr. Mikanadze, at the meeting of the Speaker of the Parliament with the Fiji Defense and National Security Minister, the parties achieved agreement on cooperation between the Parliamentary Staffs.

We enhance cooperation with Fiji. Just recently, we signed the Agreement on visa free travel for Georgian citizens to Fiji. In September, 2018 the Defense and National Security Minister of Fiji served the official visit to Georgia and held the meeting with the Speaker of Georgian Parliament where the parties agreed on bilateral cooperation between the Staffs. Fiji is interested in the reforms in the Parliament and namely in the Staff, so they expressed their will to dispatch 4 staff members to Georgian Parliament for the 2-month internship – these are the members of the International Relations Department. We expect 2 persons at the initial stage to pass internship within the spring session, and 2 more will arrive at the autumn session. We also schedule other directions of cooperation”, - G. Mikanadze noted.
