The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee discussed the draft Parliamentary Resolution on Parliamentary Recommendation on Commencement of the Procedures Envisaged under the Law in view of Recognition as Mandatory for Georgia the Optional Protocol to the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, introduced by the initiator, Vano Zardiashvili.
Georgia, on July 10, 2009 signed the Convention and Optional Protocol and has become the participant state to the Convention as from March 13, 2014. Georgia, based on the international and local official documents, has undertaken to ratify the Protocol. This issue has been included in the UPR Recommendations by the UN Human Righted Council shared by Georgia.
The Government also assumed to ratify, under the Governmental Action Plan on Human Rights Protection for 2018-2020, as one of the priorities. It was included in the action plan of the Committee.
“Correspondingly, Georgia is committed to ratify the Optional Protocol to facilitate to realization of the rights of the persons with disabilities and elimination of discrimination and full implementation of the Convention principles and values”, - the reporter noted.
The Vice-President of the National Bank, Archil Mestvirishvili introduced the bill envisaging development of the financial and capital markets in Georgia – the bill on Financial Lien, Mutual Deductions and Derivatives.
The bill creates the legal guarantees for derivatives, financial lien and mutual deductions. As noted, if adopted, the Georgian financial institutions find it simplified and cost-effective to attract financial resources from abroad. Besides, the bill will facilitate the National Bank in reserve management.
The Committee approved the bill.
