The Committee held the dialogue on the Bill on E-Commerce – advantages and challenges. The parties discussed the main provisions of the Bill introduced by the Head of USAID Governmental Department, Tamar Buadze.
She spoke about the objective of the Bill. At present, the e-commerce is not regulated under the special law but under the standalone provisions of various laws.
The new law shall ensure reflection of ISP rights and duties in Georgian legislation and facilitate to and simplify further integration of Georgia in EU digital market under EUAA.
The Bill is developed by the Economic Ministry with support by USAID G4G project. MPs asked the questions and outlined the opinions.
The Chair, Roman Kakulia called on the parties to submit their opinions in writing.
The meeting was attended by the executive authorities, local and international organizations and private sector.
The dialogue was supported by BEC in coordination with the Economic Ministry.
