Nino Tsilosani met with group of the Uzbekistani experts participating in the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) organized Twining Program and shared the progress achieved by Georgia in terms of UN sustainable development goals.
Georgia voluntarily participates in SDG National Report participation scheduled to be submitted in 2020. The Delegation composed of the representatives of the executive authority, NGO and media, asked about the Parliamentary engagement in this process.
“Georgia, being the model country in terms of achievement of sustainable development goals, can share the interesting experience to Uzbekistan. Parliamentary engagement is expressed in four main directions: development of policy for SDG achievement, application of the oversight function, oversight on budget approval, and application of the filter in terms of SDG, as well as participation in terms of openness of information. We have introduced the detailed information to our guests on all four directions. Georgia, being the model country in terms of achievement of the sustainable development goals, can share significant practice and information to Uzbekistan”, - N. Tsilosani noted.
