The Audit Group held the first sitting after enactment of the new Rules of Procedure.
The Head of the Group, MP Paata Kvizhinadze introduced the information about increased authority of the Group and spoke about the new status.
The competences of the group are in details outlined in the Rules of Procedure – it enjoys the higher authority according to which the Group shall on intermittent basis receive the material from the Auditor General. “As of today, on the basis of the letter received by the Group, the Auditor General outlined 10 priority directions. Today, we discuss the report of efficiency audit of provision of the accountability preconditions amongst the LEPLs under the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports”.
The Head of the SAS Efficiency Audit Department, Giorgi Kapanadze introduced the audit in the Education Ministry and spoke about the findings and recommendations revealed.
The Deputy Minister, Natia Zedginidze-Jishkariani reported on the recommendations noting that the Ministry shares the findings and plans full implementation of the recommendations by June.
The Deputy Finance Minister, Giorgi Kakauridze also spoke about the audit recommendations. P. Kvizhinadze summed up the sitting and noted that he hails the fact that the Ministry shares the recommendations.
The Group is to hold the sittings once per month to consider the recommendations issued towards various state agencies.
