The OSCE PA President, Member of Georgian Parliament Gigi Tsereteli delivered the speech at the Forum in the US Senate speaking about the security challenges in South-East Europe and the role of the USA, NATO and EU in stability and development of the region. Speaking about the situation in Georgia and Ukraine, he emphasized the aggressive actions of Russia and spoke about the means used by Russia by means of the military and “soft power” for confrontation with the West and maintenance of current status quo.
Mr. Tsereteli outlined OSCE engagement in the projects by the respective missions in South-East Europe, which in their turn facilitate to effective democratic reforming and integration of the region countries to West.
The Forum was attended by the US Congressmen and Senators, political leaders and experts from the Balkan countries. The Forum was presided by the Senator Jim Inhofe.
G. Tsereteli held the meetings with the President of Albania, Ilir Meta, as well as the Parliamentary leaders of Montenegro, Macedonia and Serbia.
He attended the annual speech of the US President Donald Trump in Capitol with the status of the guest.
