The Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili is addressing the President for the convocation of the extraordinary sessions on December 22-23.
“We have accomplished the autumn session but you have already been informed about the convocation of the extraordinary sessions. Today, I am addressing the President for the convocation of the extraordinary session with the agenda including the election of the Public Defender, members of the High Council of Justice, the Chair and members of the Central Election Commission, and sundry Drafts to be adopted with the III reading. We intend to convene the extraordinary session on December 22-23 and I hope that the Factions will manage to reconcile their positions concerning the candidates and we will have the opportunity to select respective persons with the qualified majority. Besides, we are finalizing the Election Code with the III reading and the Draft on Countering Violence against Women. We will have the opportunity to also hear the reports by the National Communications Commission for 2021, and by the Statistics Service for 2021. On Thursday, we are holding the Bureau to endorse the agenda for the extraordinary session”, - the Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili stated at the Bureau.
