Agrarian Issues Committee Approving Recommendations for Measures to be Implemented in State Policy of Agro-Insurance

The Agrarian Issues Committee heard the information on the outcomes of the Working Group on State Policy of Agro-Insurance and approved the recommendations of the Committee regarding measures to be carried out within the framework of the state policy of agro-insurance.
The Chair of the Agrarian Issues Committee, Nino Tsilosani presented both issues at the meeting.
"The country's agriculture is expanding rapidly as a consequence of the policies that the Parliament has put into place and as a result of the decisions taken by the government. It is critical to create a draft law for agro-insurance and carry out other initiatives in the direction of agro-insurance because this is a particularly sensitive industry with rising risks", - the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Gela Samkharauli, stated.
The Working Group was established on March 11, 2022, by resolution of the Committee, with the goal of advancing the growth of agro-insurance in the agricultural sector and among those engaged in agricultural activities. The group's goals included enhancing the institutional foundation of the agricultural insurance system and developing recommendations for defining the key axes of the government's agro-insurance policy. The working group included representatives from government and business organizations, insurance firms, farmers, and other relevant stakeholders. The appropriate agencies will receive the recommendations generated by the Working Group.
