Meeting of the working group on developing recommendations to improve the socio-economic conditions of families with children
A working group established under the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee, aimed at developing recommendations to improve the socio-economic conditions of families with children, held a meeting.

The Chair of the Healthcare and Social Issues Committee and Head of the working group, Zaza Lominadze, provided participants with information on existing programs and implemented campaigns by state institutions and municipalities focused on raising awareness, strengthening the institution of the family, and supporting families with children.

A discussion was also held on the topic: measures to improve the social conditions of families with children, including increasing the remuneration and duration of maternity, childbirth, and childcare leave; financial assistance for children; and housing policy.

“The objective of the working group is to jointly discuss, together with ministries, the Government, representatives of society, the Patriarchate, and the UN Population Fund, important issues such as demographic policy in Georgia, as well as the current situation and challenges in this area. Following the first meeting, questionnaires were sent to all municipalities and ministries across Georgia, and today we analyzed the responses. We have also planned subsequent meetings. I am confident that, together with the Government, we will develop the recommendations necessary for the country’s demographic policy”, - stated Mr. Zaza Lominadze.

The work of the group involved Members of Parliament, as well as representatives of the executive authorities and the Patriarchate.
