“This meeting facilitates the collaboration between the Parliament, private sector and Tourism Association in the development of a new Law, which is important for the country in view of the improvement of the safety regulations in tourism. We strive to render assistance to the country in the implementation of the tourism regulations for the attraction of more tourists since Georgia is rich not only with a unique cultural heritage but provides far wider opportunities, attracting high-budget visitors, which will have a positive impact on our economy”, - the USAID Economic Growth Office Director, Marika Olson noted.
According to the Chair of the Committee, David Songulashvili, the Draft serving for the improvement of the travel sector will be initiated within the autumn session: “The Draft is almost finalized, we hold the final reconciliations since the positions of the public and private sectors are important in the development of new laws; it facilitates the efficiency of the Draft, its feasibility and orientation to the interests of both sectors. The reform is to improve the tourism sector to attract more tourists and ensure higher safety in adherence to the interests of the tourists and the sector itself”.
