The Vice-Speaker, Chair of the Child Protection Council, David Sergeenko and the Council member, Mariam Lashkhi held a meeting with the representatives of the “World Vision Georgia” to discuss the issues related to the gutter children.

“Our Council monitors the fulfillment of the Child Code. On June 1, one of the recommendations expressed by the “World Vision Georgia” at the event dedicated to the Child Protection Day in the Parliament envisaged the in-depth study of the rights of the gutter children to reveal the needs and efficiency of services to ensure the response to their problems. Today, we agreed to apply the oversight instrument and start a thematic inquiry to allow us to develop the recommendations for the autumn session and require certain activities from the responsible agencies”, - M. Lashkhi stated.
