The Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, David Songulashvili, within his official visit to Italy, held a meeting with the President of the Finance and Treasury Committee of the Italian Senate, Massimo Garavaglia.

As underlined at the meeting, the friendly and partnership relations between the two countries shall be enhanced in the bilateral and multilateral formats, including through the close cooperation between the Committees.

“We agreed to set up a joint platform of the economic committees of the two parliaments for consideration of the relevant issues. The platform will facilitate the opening of a wide area for the private and public sectors for mastering the advantages of the business sector”, - D. Songulashvili noted.

As M. Garavaglia stated, he plans to visit Georgia in spring as his first working visit.

The parties overviewed the investment and business milieu of Georgia and attached attention to the enhancement of the trade-economic partnership between the countries, implying the intensification of interest of the Italian business circles in Georgia and attraction of more investments to the country.
