The first meeting was held in the framework of the bilateral cooperation between the State Council of Heraldry at the Parliament of Georgia and the Heraldic Society of Finland. Eldar Shengelaia, the Chairman of the State Council of Heraldry hosted Nuorteva, Director General of the National Archives Service of Finland, and the Chairperson of Heraldry Society of Finland.

Eldar Shengelaia introduced to the Finnish colleague the issues of development of heraldry in Georgia and noted that the heraldry did not exist during the soviet time in Georgia at all. "We have gone through the complex process, as the result of which we adopted the new Georgian flag and coat of arms. At the first stage the heraldry council was formed. After the new flag and the coat of arms were approved, the State Heraldry Council was established at the parliamentary decision”, - Eldar Shengelaia noted.

The Heraldry Society of Finland is administered by the National Archives Service and its competence is defined under the special law. According to his information, the Heraldry Society of Finland has been actively working on exploration of the old heraldry signs as well as in the direction of the contemporary state, religious and military heraldry.

In the framework of the bilateral cooperation, the State Council of Heraldry of Georgia plans to visit the Heraldry Society of Finland. Georgian side conducts negotiations with the Czech and Polish Heraldry Councils as well.
