Georgia's National Security Council to Include the Head of the Special State Protection Service as a Permanent Member

The Head of the Special State Protection Service of Georgia will participate in the activities of the National Security Council of Georgia as a permanent member of the Council.
The head of the SSPS, Anzor Chubinidze, introduced the draft law prepared at the initiative of the government to the Defense and Security Committee.
During the first reading, the speaker provided an overview of the draft law on the Rules of Planning and Coordination of National Security Policy. He claims that the Service actively participates in putting special, operational, and other preventive measures into place that help to identify and stop threats against the state.
He continued by saying that the Service engages in actions that fall under the legal definition of national security.
The Committee approved the document.
