Genadi Margvelashvili congratulating the Pupils and Pedagogues with victory at the 16th International Zhautykov Olympiad

The Chair of the Education, Science and Culture, Genadi Margvelashvili, and the Education, Science, Culture and Sports Minister, Mikheil Chkhenkeli met with the pupils and pedagogues winning the medals at the 16th International Zhautykov Olympiad for Physics and Informatics.

“We are proud that Georgian pupils have gained unprecedented results at the 16th International Zhautykov Olympiad held on January 8-12 in Almaty attended by 600 pupils from 21 countries. Georgian pupils won 16 medals: 3 golden medals, 6 silver and 8 bronze. I would like to congratulate them – pupils and pedagogues with this victory. Georgian Physical-Mathematical School was the visit card of our country and we need to maintain this tendency. The new Kutaisi International University can highly contribute to it and serve as the starting arena for our talented youth”, - G. Margvelashvili noted.

It is as well noteworthy that Georgian pedagogues won the first prizes at the trainers’ competition – Lela Mamulashvili and Mikheil Sokhashvili won the first prizes and Vakhtang Shekishvili, Luka Khizhanishvili and Teimurz Kalatozi won the third prizes.

G. Margvelashvili thanked the winners.
