Genadi Margvelashvili: vocational education is of the utmost importance for our country

The Chair of the Education, Science and Culture Committee, Genadi Margvelashvili held the online meeting with the members of the Thematic Inquiry Group on Accessibility to the Vocational Educational tailored for the Needs of the Region.

The participants, the representatives of NGOs and the colleges dwelt on the vocational education and noted that up to 70 organizations participated in the survey, which underlines the wide-scale nature of the issue.

“The Committee has ensured the surveys, including the formal and informal education in and out of schools and issued the respective recommendations. At the current stage, the Committee holds the active works in two directions – pre-school and vocational education. It is noteworthy that much is done in these directions, though the challenges remain. Today, we hold the online meeting by ZOOM with the NGOs and the colleges to discuss the infrastructure, employment, human resources and labor market according to the regional principle. We are to soon issue the recommendations in these regards. The Committee will process information provided by NGOs and colleges and will submit the recommendations to the respective Government”, - G. Margvelashvili noted after the meeting.

The Thematic Inquiry is backed by the EU and the UNDP in cooperation with the WFD.
