The Gender Equality Council discussing the violence against women and femicide

The Gender Equality Council discussed the violence against women and femicide at the first sitting of the autumn session.
As the Chair of the Council, Nino Tsilosani stated, the Council members met with the representatives of the Human Rights and Investigation Quality Monitoring Department of the Interior Ministry, Agency for State Care and Assistance for the Victims of Human Trafficking, and the Human Rights Office of the Prosecutor’s Office and deliberated on the hereof problems.
“On the one hand, the guests introduced the statistical data concerning the violence against women and femicide, we heard the report on their agencies and the analysis of the hereof grave crimes and facts. On the other hand, we had an opportunity to direct our questions on the possible preventive measures. We hail that the sitting was attended by the members of the ruling party, as well as the opposition members, and I would like to see the Parliamentary political spectrum at the next sitting of the Council”, - she stated.
