Giorgi Gabunia Addresses Participants at the Closing Ceremony of the International Literary Festival “Poetry First and Foremost”

Chair of the Culture Committee, Giorgi Gabunia, attended the closing ceremony of the international literary festival Poetry First and Foremost and addressed the audience with welcoming remarks.
Giorgi Gabunia emphasized the historical significance of the festival, noting its important role in promoting contemporary Georgian literature both domestically and internationally. He underlined that the event also contributes to deepening cooperation with foreign authors and fostering literary dialogue across generations.
The festival’s closing ceremony was held at the Rustaveli State Theatre—symbolically linked to the historical tradition of Poetry Day, which was established in 1920 through the initiative of Galaktion Tabidze, Titsian Tabidze, and Paolo Iashvili.
As part of the festival, literary evenings, anniversaries, exhibitions, masterclasses, and reader engagement events were held in several cities across Georgia, including Gori, Mtskheta, Batumi, and the mountainous regions of Adjara.
