Meeting of Giorgi Khelashvili with Aleš Chmelař

Giorgi Khelashvili, First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Aleš Chmelař to discuss Georgia's foreign policy priorities from both regional and global perspectives.
Particular attention was paid to Georgia's territorial integrity and de-occupation, resistance to Russian aggression, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the region, regional interventions for regional peace, and the possible consequences that the current events in Afghanistan may bring both globally and regionally.
During the meeting, the sides expanded on Georgia's EU integration.
"The conversation focused on the European agenda in Georgia, our country's EU integration, the cooperation of Central European countries with the Eastern Partnership countries, the Visegrad Group and especially the Trio - Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and the future of EU integration. During the meeting, we dwelt on the current processes in Europe, the forthcoming elections and their possible consequences for the future enlargement of Europe, relations with the Eastern Partnership countries and Russia", - Giorgi Khelashvili stated.
