Irakli Kovzanadze: the international organizations facilitated the implementation of all the reforms deserving success in the financial sector

“I hail the engagement of the international organizations in this event. You facilitated the implementation of all the reforms that appeared to be successful in the financial sector. We are committed to facilitating all types of transparency, reforms and oversight-related surveys”, - the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze stated in his speech at the presentation on the Relations of the Parliament with the Accountable Bodies.
He overviewed the relations of the Committee with the independent institutions and regulatory bodies and stressed the issues within the profile of the Committee. In regards to the oversight of the state debt, he noted that significant steps have been taken after the pandemic resulting in 57% of the debt to GDP. Now, the Government strives to reduce the index to 45% and mitigate the deficit.
As I. Kovzanadze added, the Committee set up the thematic group to study the situation. The outcomes will be soon reported to the Parliament.
He informed the attendees about the activity of the Standing Group considering the Audit reports and overseeing the fulfillment of the issued recommendations. He stressed other oversight directions and thanked the EU Representation, UNDP and WFD for cooperation and engagement.
