The MP, Irina Pruidze met with the NGOs in Rustavi, including the human rights defenders and local authorities to discuss the gender equality, rights of women, domestic violence and discrimination.

“Gender equality is an integral part of democracy. Participation of women in decision-making ensures improvement of the politics, institutions and laws”, - she noted.

The meeting was held with the financial support of the “EWMI” project PROLoG by the Network of Democratic Involvement Centers within the project “Improvement of the Exchange of Information on Human Rights between the centers and the regions”.

The project is supported by the Human Rights Protection Secretariat of the Government, Parliament of Georgia, Gender Equality Council and the Public Defender Office.
