Irma Inashvili: We are opting to continuous protests

One of the leaders of the Alliance of Patriots and Social-Democrats, Vice Speaker of the Parliament, Irma Inashvili made a statement on behalf of the Alliance of Patriots of Georgia and her Parliamentary Faction regarding opting to the continuous protests in response to the decision made by the Parliament and the current situation in the country.

“In this situation we are opting to continuous protests. The first rally will take place on Sunday at Republic Square. I call on everyone, first and foremost, our supporters - we need to act calmly, intelligently, wisely, we must join forces and declare maximal extend mobilization. At the same time, I would like to appeal to the supporters of other parties to join the rally regardless of their political views”, - Irma Inashvili noted.

According to her, the first and foremost demand of the rallies would be the "Georgian Dream" to leave the government.

Irma Inashvili called on politicians to come up with a unified action plan acceptable to the whole political spectrum and stated: "We are well aware of the crisis and the process that is going on in the country, the population understands that all majoritarian constituencies have been usually used by the authorities in Georgia to falsify the elections, and the Georgian Dream is no exception. However, even in the current critical situation, the majority can rectify the situation, make little changes to the draft law and submit it back to the Parliament for consideration", - Irma Inashvili delivered.

If the majority does not assume this step, pursuant to Irma Inashvili, the legislation provides her Faction with the right to submit the same bill to the Parliament tomorrow with a slight change.

“Our demand is absolutely fair and legitimate. We demand for fair elections in this country and today's decision of the Georgian Dream has deprived the Georgian people of this right, which we cannot allow. Everyone should understand, first and foremost those remained in the majority of Georgian Dream, that these rallies will never end until the resignation of the Government. We will change the Government together with the Georgian people. At the same time, the Georgian Dream's political elite and Bidzina Ivanishvili should be well aware that no one can avoid personal responsibility anymore nor and responsibility for the crisis will be avoided”, - Irma Inashvili stated.
