Presentation of a Handbook Co-Authored by Givi Mikanadze Takes Place at the Ministry of Justice

At the Ministry of Justice, a presentation was held for the newly published textbook “Juvenile Crime Prevention and Enforcement of Sentences”, co-authored by the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Givi Mikhanadze.
One of the authors, G. Mikhanadze, addressed representatives from academia, state institutions working with juveniles, and other stakeholders, highlighting the textbook's significance.
“This textbook introduces new academic perspectives for higher education institutions. It provides a foundation for the development of specialised courses focused on juvenile justice, particularly the prevention of crime and the enforcement of sentences. Its value extends beyond academia, offering practical relevance and applicability for a broader audience. We are confident that the textbook will receive positive feedback both from professionals in the field and from young people planning careers in criminal justice”, – G. Mikhanadze stated.
The publication covers topics including juvenile delinquency and its prevention; diversion and mediation—restorative justice as an effective tool for prevention; imprisonment and other custodial measures.
The co-authors of the textbook are:
Givi Mikhanadze, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and Associate Professor at the Caucasus International University; Moris Shalikashvili, Associate Professor at Tbilisi State University and Doctor of Law from the University of Hamburg; Ioseb Vardzelashvili, Professor at the Georgian National University and Doctor of Law from Tbilisi State University.
The textbook was prepared within the framework of a grant project supported by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia.
The presentation was attended by: Minister of Justice Paata Salia; First Deputy Minister Lasha Maghradze; Deputy Ministers Merab Turava, Giorgi Dgebuadze, Beka Dzamashvili, and Aleksandre Maisuradze; Director General of the Special Penitentiary Service Nika Tskhvarashvili; Deputy Chair of the Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs Giorgi Sosiashvili; and representatives of the academic community.
