The Health Care and Social Issues Committee discussing the Drafts in an expedited manner

The Committee discussed the Draft Law on Medicine and Pharmaceutical Activity with the II reading; the Draft envisages the reference price formation and establishes the upper margin on prices, prohibiting the sale of the medicines at the price exceeding the hereof margin.
The Draft modifies the state policy in the pharmaceutical sphere, envisaging higher accessibility to high-quality, safe and effective products.
The Draft was introduced by the Deputy Health Minister, Tamar Gabunia along with the remarks shared after the I reading. The Committee discussed the accompanying Bills on Control of Entrepreneurial Activity; on Enforcement Proceedings; and the Tax Code.
The sitting was attended by the representatives of the Pharmaceutical Association.
Committee discussed with the II reading the Draft Law on Social Aid, establishing indexation of the social package for persons with disabilities.
Draft was introduced by T. Barkalaia elucidating that the growth of the social package, pursuant to the current Law, depends on the state budget of a respective year and the fiscal parameters, while the amendments ensure its growth on annual basis. The Committee approved the Drafts.
