At a joint meeting of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, and on the EU Integration Committees, information was heard regarding the status of the implementation of the Association  Agreement commitments in the field of environmental protection and natural resources.

The report was presented by the Deputy Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister, Zurab Ezugbaia.

The report submitted by the Ministry reflects the progress made and the current status of the implementation of commitments undertaken within the framework of the Association Agreement with the European Union.

The reporter spoke about the measures implemented by the Ministry in the field of environmental protection. He also reviewed the progress achieved and the existing challenges in the process of approximation to the EU legal acts.

Particular attention was paid to priority areas such as biodiversity protection, waste management, chemical safety, regulation of industrial emissions, and measures related to climate change.

The meeting also discussed future plans for the development and adoption of relevant draft laws and technical regulations.
