The Committees heard the Report by the Education and Science Ministry

The EU Integration and the Education and Science Committees heard the Report by the Education and Science Ministry on the implementation of the EUAA, and the 6-month implementation of the National Action Plan for 2021 on the EU Integration.
“Despite the reforms and progress, the education, qualification, research and technologies system still encounters the challenges, including in terms of quality and equality, financing and accountability etc. The new strategy document is the vision of the Government on development of the system and reflects the priorities and the solutions”, - the First Deputy Education Minister, Ekaterine Dgebuadze stated.
According to her, the Ministry keeps developing the uniform Strategy and Action Plan for 2022-2023 in full compliance with the national legislation.
The agreement has been reached with the EU planning the analysis and recommendations on the implementation of the documents for 2017-2021. The reporter overviewed the projects and stressed the EaP European School project phase 2, offering a high-quality education based on the multicultural environment and fundamental values. It will lead to the formation of the Learning Academy for the professional development of the pedagogues.
The Academy shall ensure the professional development of the pedagogues in line with the standards of the international and accredited European schools and offer the same quality to Georgian public and private schools.
The reporter stressed Erasmus+ program and noted that it is one of the successful programs supporting all stages of education, youth and sports development in Europe. The program has been extended to cover vocational education. The reporter emphasized the development of informal education.
“Formation of the teaching system for the adults will facilitate the creation of job opportunities and rapid response to the needs at the labor market”, - she stated.
As to the researches and innovations, the EU institutional twinning program keeps developing collaboration between the research and industry facilitating the approximation of science and industry, creation of new financing schemes, improvement of programs and encouragement of professional researches.
