Maia Bitadze, Chairperson of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, H.E. Andrius Kalindra to discuss the opportunities provided by new legislative changes in the field of waste and water resource management.

Representatives from Lithuania, Irmantas Šidlauskas and Giedrius Rutkauskas, who have undertaken a number of environmental projects both in Lithuania and abroad, also attended the meeting.

"At the meeting, we addressed Lithuania's waste sorting and separation experience, as well as the need of sharing experiences throughout the transposition of European legislation. The Lithuanian side stated their willingness to participate in future initiatives. It was also observed that Georgia continues to move closer to European environmental legislation, taking into consideration developed and planned legislation”, - Maia Bitadze remarked following the meeting.
