The Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze held an online working meeting with the MEP Bronis Ropė to discuss the report to be submitted to the EuroNest PA Energy Security Committee.

It is noteworthy that the report “Transition to Green Energy as a Response to the Energy Security Challenges in the Eastern European Partnership in the context of the Russian Aggressive War and Occupation” is to be discussed by the Committee in February 2023.

The report is co-authored by M. Bitadze and the MEP B. Ropė. At the meeting, the parties agreed on the update and specification of the title and context of the report providing the current challenges.

The updated report will provide stronger emphasis on the current challenges, energy security of Europe and the transition to green energy, as well as the importance of the South Caucasus, including Georgia in this process.
