Meeting of Maka Botchorishvili and Members of EU Integration Committee with Chairman and Members of EP Foreign Affairs Committee

The Chairperson of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and the Committee members met with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament (AFET), David McAllister, and the members of the committee.
The parties discussed the importance of the visit of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, Georgia’s European perspective and the steps to be taken on the way to joining the European Union.
Particular attention was paid to the importance of the implementation of the recommendations proposed by the European Commission.
The meeting also discussed Georgia’s progress in terms of the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union.
"We discussed the decision of the European Council regarding granting a European perspective to Georgia. We also discussed the process of putting the European Commission's proposals into practice, which is now taking place in the Parliament and should involve all relevant parties. The discussion also covered the country's achievements in terms of the implementation of EUAA. This agreement is the best guide for the country's transformation, and part of this agreement is reflected in the recommendations”, - Maka Botchorishvili stated after the meeting.
During the meeting, which was attended by Maka Botchorishvili, Archil Talakvadze, Nino Iobashvili, Teona Akubardia, and Herman Sabo, the parties also discussed the regional security amid Russia's military actions against Ukraine and spoke about its effects on regional security and stability.
