Meetings of Maka Botchorishvili in the Kingdom of Sweden

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili continues working meetings in the Kingdom of Sweden.
During her working visit to Stockholm, Maka Botchorishvili met with the Deputy Head of Sweden's delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Johan Büser, the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swedish Parliament, Aron Emilsson, and other committee members from different political parties.
The parties focused on Georgia's relations with the European Union, Georgia's execution of the European Commission's proposals, and the dynamics of Georgia's integration process into the EU in addition to the priorities of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The parties also discussed European security challenges; the importance of strengthening cooperation between the European Union and Georgia on the Black Sea, economic development trends, and transit potential.
The sessions focused on the prospects for collaboration between Sweden and Georgia as well as the significance of Sweden's active support of Georgia's European orientation as the EU Presidency country.
Maka Botchorishvili took part in a round table discussion on "Georgia's EU integration process and the aims of Sweden's EU presidency" as part of the visit. The session was hosted by the Stockholm Centre for Eastern European Studies.
The event was also attended by experts from various research centers and representatives of state institutions.
The Chair of the EU Integration Committee spoke about the progress of Georgia, the challenges in the region, and the expectations of Sweden's presidency of the European Union.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to Sweden, H.E. Irakli Khutsurauli.
