Nino Tsilosani: Gender Equality Council is working on the methodology for identifying the gender pay gap and its elimination
A working meeting of the Permanent Parliamentary Gender Equality Council was held on the problems of the gender pay gap and equal pay.
According to Nino Tsilosani, the Chair of the Council, there is a gender pay gap in practically every country in the world today, with many causes, and Georgia is no exception.
"Equal pay for equal work is a right that every woman possesses. We are following the article in the Labor Code on equal pay and working on selecting the approach needed to identify the pay gap and eliminate it with the help of various partner organizations”, - Nino Tsilosani stated.
Representatives from UN Women, a partner donor organization, also attended the meeting.
