The Chair of the Gender Equality Council, Nino Tsilosani held a meeting with the Director of NATO Liaison Office, Alexander Vinnikov and discussed the gender equality issues and the activity and the action plan of the GEC pursuant to the UN Security Council Resolution N1325; as well as the cooperation prospects.

“We discussed the engagement of the women in peace and security issues. In this sphere, we have a clear UN Security Council Resolution N1325 on Women, Peace and Security that our Council and the Defense Ministry are guided under, and certain activities in our Action Plan are envisaged according to this Resolution. At the same time, a member of our Council, Teona Akubardia is actively engaged in the identification of new activities. This meeting was particularly important to the extent that we outlined our further plans that the Gender Equality Council in cooperation with the Defense and Security Committee will actively work on the fulfillment of the UN Security Council Resolution N1325”, - N. Tsilosani stated.
