The Chair of the Gender Equality Council, Nino Tsilosani, the Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Mikheil Sarjveladze and the Public Defender, Levan Ioseliani held a working meeting with the PD Office representatives to deliberated on the reports and recommendations of the Ombudsman on gender equality, as well as the plans of the Gender Equality Council.

The participants became cognizant of sundry special reports of the PD, including the Evaluation of Municipalities’ Gender Equality Policy, Harmful Practices of early/child marriage, femicide monitoring mechanism and findings of the analysis of femicide and femicide attempts.

The agenda also included the recommendations issued to the Parliament.

The commitment was expressed to periodically hearing the reports and recommendations of the Ombudsman to ensure effective enforcement thereof.

The meeting was backed by the EU.
