The Deputy Chair of the Committee conducted an inspection of the infrastructure of the 198th, 200th, 202nd, and 203rd public schools in Tbilisi, during which she assessed the current situation and identified challenges.
Baia Kvitsiani also held a working meeting with representatives of the school administration and teachers to gain insights into the schools' needs. Discussions included topics such as adapted textbooks and other educational resources, opportunities for international cooperation, and ways to involve parents in school activities.
During the meeting, the Deputy Chair addressed issues related to school psychologists and special education teachers, with a particular focus on the existing mechanisms for providing socio-emotional support to students.
This offsite meeting was part of an ongoing thematic research initiative by the committee, aimed at evaluating the impact of students' social and emotional well-being on their academic performance and studying the effectiveness of existing support mechanisms. The thematic inquiry is supported by the USAID's National Governance Program.
