The Parliament adopted the Draft Law on Police for the III reading, introduced by the Deputy Interior Minister, Alexandre Darakhvelidze.

Under the amendments, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will become a higher educational institution and its name will be changed to the Academy of Public Security and Police (Police Academy).

Besides, the Draft Law envisages the establishment of the new bachelor’s program “Public Order and Policing” in the Academy and provides the State Security Service the capacity to undertake the master’s program.
