Parliament Approved Changes to Election Code

The Parliament considered the amendment to the Election Code with 81 votes in the third and final reading.

As one of the initiators, David Matikashvili, elucidated, the amendment regulates some of the norms applicable to the by-elections under the Proportional Electoral System from the date of the mandate of the Parliament elected in the 2020 Parliamentary elections and the issues related to the implementation of some procedures by the CEC during the transition period by electronic means and the establishment of the CEC Advisory Group during the transition period.
