Event Dedicated to International Children’s Day, “Our Parliament,” Held at the Parliament of Georgia
On the occasion of International Children’s Day, the Parliament of Georgia hosted an event entitled “Our Parliament”.

The participants were welcomed by the Speaker of Parliament, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili.

The Speaker congratulated the attendees on Children’s Day and spoke about new educational initiatives that will help children gain a better understanding of parliamentary processes.

According to Shalva Papuashvili, beginning from the new academic year, representatives of Parliament will introduce students to parliamentary life through systematic school visits and open classroom lessons.

Giorgi Chakvetadze, First Deputy Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, spoke about the general education reform and its significance. In his assessment, the reform will move the development of school education to a new stage.

The participants were also addressed by Tamar Makharashvili, Deputy Education, Science and Youth Minister, who spoke about the importance of children's well-being, a safe environment, and quality education.

As part of the event, a presentation was held for the book “Our Parliament,” published in Georgian, Georgian-Abkhaz, Georgian-Armenian, and Georgian-Azerbaijani languages, as well as an animation bearing the same title.

The event also featured an exhibition of works created by the winners of the competition “Parliament Through My Eyes” and an award ceremony for the winning participants.

At the conclusion of the event, educational and recreational activities were organized for attendees.

The event was attended by Members of Parliament and students from various schools.

The purpose of the event was to promote civic awareness among children and deepen their interest in parliamentary activities.
