The Change to the Law on Motor Transport to regulate the qualification of the entities engaged in the transportation of the dangerous goods and/or international forwarding
The Sector Economy and Economic Policy discussed the Bill on Motor Transport with the II reading.
The Deputy Economic Minister, Guram Guramishvili, introducing the Bill, elucidated that the change regulates the initial qualification periodic training of the entities – transport manager, driver and hazardous cargo advisor – engaged in the dangerous goods transportation and/or international forwarding. The change will allow the entities to, through professional qualification, meet the modern requirements related to the transport development sphere.
As the Bill prescribes, the right to ensure the respective training and periodic qualification courses shall be granted to the LEPL Land Transport Agency at the Ministry of Economy, and the Training Center. The LTA shall grant the initial qualification to the entities engaged in the transportation of the dangerous goods and/or international forwarding.
The Committee approved the Bill.
